Victoria's Offshore Wind Leadership with Min. Lily D'Ambrosio

Offshore wind is a critical new industry that will play a pivotal role in decarbonising the energy system to prevent worsening climate impacts.

The sector also represents an opportunity to create thousands of good jobs and lifelong careers for regional communities like Victoria’s Gippsland region.

In March 2022, the Victorian government announced a major new offshore wind plan that will see the state build a massive 9 gigawatts of offshore wind by 2040. It's an absolute game changer that will transform the energy system.

This Thursday 10th March, join Friends of the Earth and Victorian Trades Hall Council for a special event in conversation with Victoria Climate and Energy Minister Lily D’Ambrosio.

Minister D’Ambrosio will provide an online briefing on the Victorian government’s recent offshore wind announcements, followed by a discussion among key representatives and campaigners of what this means for jobs and climate action.

Key Speakers include:

  • Minister Lily D'Ambrosio, Victorian Climate and Energy Minister
  • Luke Hilakari, Secretary, Victorian Trades Hall Council
  • Pat Simons, Yes2Renewables Coordinator, Friends of the Earth

This event will be held via Zoom, registration is essential.
