50 years ago today, the international treaty for the protection of internationally significant wetlands came into effect. The RAMSAR convention was to support populations of migratory birds, endangered species, purify drinking water, and sink carbon.

STOP FLOODPLAIN HARVESTING

Unlicensed diversion from the Floodplain in the Northern Basin is hurting every inch of the Murray Darling Basin. NSW Water Minister Melinda Pavey needs to end all floodplain harvesting until it is fully licensed and compliant with the 1994 cap on extractions.
