Community Training: Social Media Storytelling

This Wednesday 16th April join Yes2Renewables and Voices of the Valley in Traralgon for a free community training session on making powerful videos and content for social media.

This 1 hour training aims to upskill community members, volunteers and advocates in capturing powerful stories to share on social media about the issues that matter to you. No previous interest or skills in photography, video or social media needed. We've allowed an additional 30 mins at the end to practice and for networking.

There's so much happening in Gippsland and this training is designed to support local volunteers to be able to capture all the incredible actions and tell stories in a way that builds movement power.

In this training you will learn the basics of capturing video, images and other content of your local events and how to quickly and easily edit and share those stories online.

The training will include:

- How to capture captivating images and video for social media at your events (from your phones)

- How to tell a story

- Easy ways to create and edit social media videos that captivate

- How to add a call to action (e.g. encourage people to sign a petition, join a group or something more)

- What kinds of narratives move people into action

Places are limited to make sure to RSVP if you are keen to attend. You can help spread the word by sharing the event with friends and family.

This event will take place on the lands of the Gunai/Kurnai Peoples. Their sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
