Victorians know that we are facing a time of climate and ecological crisis.
Winter has only just finished and we are already getting warnings of a horror bushfire season, with farming communities in the grip of severe drought.
But whilst Premier Andrews has taken commendable action on climate in the past, there is a huge hole in his government’s climate action.
Despite the climate crisis, the well known health and environmental impacts, and the ready supply of sustainable alternatives, there are still new fossil fuel projects underway in Victoria.
That is why Energy Justice Victoria and Friends of the Earth Melbourne have launched a campaign for No New Fossil Fuels in Victoria. This includes offshore gas, conventional onshore gas, and coal.
To kick off this campaign Energy Justice will be going to the regional communities on the frontlines of fossil fuels in Victoria to hear their stories and their alternate, positive vision.
The Fossil Frontlines Community Tour schedule:
Week 1: East Gippsland - new gas
(13th of October)

Each event will be an opportunity to hear the stories of local communities, their fight against proposed projects, and their positive alternate vision, whilst also putting it into the bigger picture of the fight that is happening against new fossil fuels across Victoria.
Energy Justice aims to share and amplify these stories, and provide ways for people outside of these communities to learn about these new fossil fuel projects and work to support the people on the frontline.
