Want to get involved in the fight for climate justice and environmental protection?
Friends of the Earth Melbourne has been fighting for environmental and social justice since 1974. Our grassroots campaigns will be ramping up in 2022.
Join us for an info night to learn about what the different campaigns at Friends of the Earth have planned for a big year, and how you can get involved!
With both a state and federal election approaching, 2022 is going to be a crucial year for our climate, communities, wildlife, and the places we love. Our federal government has failed to take any serious action on climate, and has abandoned communities to its escalating impacts.
Passionate community campaigns in Victoria have seen us make significant gains for climate action at the state level… but we have a lot of work to do to secure strong policies to tackle the climate crisis, drive a just transition, and protect ecosystems.
Come along to hear about our campaigns to…
- Hold the Morrison government to account for its inaction on climate change…
- Secure stronger climate policies for Victoria…
- Win better buses for Victorian communities…
- Establish a jobs-rich offshore wind industry...
- Resist new fossil gas extraction…
- And more…
The event will also feature:
- Victorian Trades Hall Council Just Transitions Officer, Colin Long
- Special guest speaker, TBA.
No prior knowledge or experience needed. Just a passion for environmental justice and community action.
STAYING COVID SAFE: This event will be semi-outdoors at the Victorian Trades Hall’s undercover loading dock. While it will have good ventilation, we recommend that people wear masks if they cannot socially distance. Masks and hand sanitiser will be available for attendees.
Friends of the Earth acknowledge that this event will take place on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri people. Sovereignty was never ceded, and fighting for First Nations justice must always be a core part of climate justice work.
