This time, we thought we’d give you a menu of actions to choose from.
You choose, we act!
In our lifetime, the word 'catastrophic' has become a measurement of 'Australia's' bushfires and floods.
10 years ago, Act on Climate focused on mitigation. Three years ago, then, we went on a listening tour to community groups across Victoria to identify their priority concerns.
The findings of this trip tipped us towards adaptation: communities are facing climate impacts now, and must adapt to their increased risk of unnatural disasters, fueled by the climate emergency and locked in by the inaction of government.
Our new priorities were laid out: supporting communities to lead adaptation projects in their local areas!
Through the generous support of donors like yourself, we were able to deliver!
Six Community Resilience Mapping workshops, followed by ongoing support for community groups, a brilliant Climate Adaptation Fair 2025, two Resilience Classes at a local Neighbourhood House, and continued momentum building for a Community Climate Adaptation Fund, to name a few of our successes!
But our work is far from done!
Research shows that consistent and long-term convening of community groups is a key enabler of successful adaptation initiatives. We are one of those conveners for grassroots groups.
Today, we have a strong collective of skilled volunteers and the plans to up our game; we just need the funds to realise them!

What You Can Do!
- Give a tax-deductible donation – even the small amounts add up!
- Share our message with friends and family – tell them why you care, and to match your donation!
- Come to our next event, and spread the word on adaptation!
