Adaptation Alliance Call 3: Adapting to Extreme Heat

On our 3rd Climate Adaptation Activator call we discussed about heat impacts and adaptation! Here's what we got up to and all the info, ideas and solidarity shared on the call, as well as some upcoming events and resources...

Our next call will be on Thurs 6 February 6pm - hope to see you there! RSVP here.

See the presentation here

On the call, we presented on heat impacts and adaptation, considering we are heading into possibly one of hottest summers on record, and:

----------------------------------------------

Heatwaves kill more Australians than any other natural disaster.

Heat is a silent and invisible killer of the silenced and invisible.

----------------------------------------------

In the presentation, we shared:

  • adaptation solutions for extreme heat
  • how we can help those around us stay safe during heatwaves
    • by sharing information
    • holding heatwave safety events
    • through mutual aid
    • through workplace safety
    • by advocating for heatsafe initiatives in our communities
  • examples of extreme heat adaptation solutions being put into practice and their flaws and successes
