Want to get rid of expensive gas bills? Sign up to be part of a pilot project to electrify your whole street!
Victoria is already enacting a plan to substitute our dirty, expensive gas with affordable, renewable electricity over the next decade. As households electrify, gas is becoming more expensive for those who continue to use it.
SET Street (Supported Energy Transition St) is a pilot project of Friends of the Earth to help low income and multicultural households get off gas usage and electrify their homes. Electrification can save the average home over $2,000 dollars a year in energy costs.
Only one street will be selected in each of the following five Victorian Local Government Areas to take part:
- Frankston
- Greater Dandenong
- Hume
- Maribyrnong
- Whittlesea
We will support residents through every step of the electrification journey - from accessing government rebates, to securing additional financial assistance if needed, to getting the job done with trusted, high-quality local contractors.
Friends of the Earth is looking for keen individuals to contact us now if they are interested in signing their street up to be a SET St.
Do you live in one of our five target Councils? Sign up today, and we'll get in touch to talk you through the process and help you get started.
Only one street in each Local Council will be selected - don't miss out!
