On this continent and in this region, AUKUS is escalating dangerous militarisation and monstrous spending on US wars.
September 21 is International Day of Peace. We invite everyone to take action on or around that day, however big or small. Groups and individuals will be speaking out against militarisation and AUKUS in unison, calling for peace and justice - will you join us?
Ideas for actions
- Hold a local action, rally or protest, make some street theatre or a musical performance.
- Write, play and sing an ani-AUKUS peace song on your own or with friends.
- Get together with a few people in a public place, hand out flyers and have conversations about why AUKUS and militarisation is not good for us. Contact us for a leaflet or make your own.
- Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper.
- Visit, call or write to your MP with your concerns about AUKUS, nuclear waste, and the march to war.
- Put a poster, leaflet or sticker up at your local community notice board or in your window, and take a picture with your poster.
- Talk with your family, friends and workmates, give them a leaflet.
- Share your photos and videos on social media with #NOAUKUS
Friends of the Earth's Nuclear Free Collective is holding a #NOAUKUS Action outside Trades Hall at 4.30pm. Please bring your banners and props.
