FoE's Sustainable Cities collective is now recruiting a community organiser to supercharge its Better Buses campaign. The new recruit will be working with the Sustainable Cities collective as well as FoE members/supporters, residents, and community groups in Melbourne's western suburbs.
Transport is Victoria's second largest and fastest growing source of emissions and the western suburbs are among the fastest growing areas in the whole state (Wyndham is expected to have the equivalent population as Tasmania by 2036). Without a big investment in better buses and public transport infrastructure, these trends could set us back in the fight for zero emissions.
