So, how can we get there?
Beyond Zero Emissions together with the University of Melbourne Energy Institute has just released the Zero Carbon Australia Stationary Energy Plan. This cutting-edge plan is a detailed and costed blueprint for transitioning Australia's electricity sector to 100% renewable energy, using technology that is available now off the shelf.
This report shows that renewable energy can replace fossil fuels, and that the technology exists to complete this transition in ten years. There are no technical or economic barriers to repowering the Australian economy.
