Grill’d burger chain has 54 stores across Victoria, the heaviest gas using state in Australia and claims that sustainability is “in (their) DNA”. But Grill'd stores use polluting fossil gas to grill their burgers which is bad for the climate, their energy bills and the health of their workers.
We have spent months trying to reach out to Grill'd to ask them to switch to electric cooking. We even sent them a pitch explaining the benefits. It's not a huge ask and if they simply did what we asked the results for the company, it's staff and the planet would be all good and no bad. Here's what we had to say.
But after all of our efforts Grill'd have refused to even give us an audience.
They say that local matters. They say that "4,417 employees participated in a survey and nominated 'environmental impacts' as a cause closest to their hearts" and that they're "listening and taking action". Let's show Grill'd what matters to their customers, their staff and the climate.
Tell Grill'd that it's time that they committed to moving their operations off gas by pledging to switch out old gas appliances at the end of their life with efficient electric cooking.
Tell them that it's time for Grill'd to get off gas!

Want to do more?
Signing the petition is a great way for us to show public support, but if you really want to apply pressure to so-called "healthy burger" outlet Grill'd, you might consider:
Emailing them! Email them every. single. day!
[email protected]
Ask them what is their problem with saving money on energy bills, reducing their climate impact and improving indoor air quality for their workers.
Annoy them on social media
Using the hashtag #grilldoffgas make your voice heard by targeting @grilldburgers and encourage your friends to do the same. All that we ask is that if you record a protest video of yourself in or near a Grill'd store that you don't make things hard for their workers. Grill'd workers have already been treated badly enough...over and over again!
We think it's time that Grill'd walked their talk and made a commitment to the climate that actually means something more than just tacky marketing spin. Join with us to get Grill'd off gas!
