Buses. Roads. Rail. One connected West.
Transport is one of the biggest challenges facing Melbourne’s west. Residents continue to experience limited public transport, congested roads and long, unreliable journeys to work, education, healthcare and essential services.
Our journeys do not stop at council or electorate boundaries—and neither should transport planning.
GetWestMoving! will bring residents, community organisations and decision-makers together around three connected priorities:
- Better, more connected buses
- Better rail
- Better roads
The program will feature community experiences, key transport priorities and practical opportunities for action. It will conclude with a structured candidate forum, giving residents the opportunity to hear directly from election candidates about how they will advocate for the west and the commitments they are prepared to make.
The following candidates have confirmed attendance:
• Broden Borg — Labor, Melton Candidate
• Joyce McDonald — Greens, Kororoit Candidate; also on the panel
• Donna Southern — The West Party, Kororoit Candidate
• Jarrod Bingham — Liberal, Melton Candidate
• Matthew Katselis — One Nation, Melton Candidate
• Rayan Hassan — Victorian Socialists, Kororoit Candidate
• Anneke Demanuele — Victorian Socialists, Western Metropolitan Candidate
• Shania Khan — Victorian Socialists, Sydenham Candidate
• Xavier Menta — Legalise Cannabis, Western Metropolitan Candidate
