Film Fundraiser for the Climate Frontlines

Winter Warmers returns! Get cozy in the Yami Lester room upstairs at Friends of the Earth, grab a mug of mulled wine and homemade bowl of hearty vegan-ness to tune into the hope filled documentary "The Bentley Effect".

The Act on Climate Collective are fundraising to get on the road and visit frontline communities experiencing climate impacts. First up is coastal communities facing erosion and sea level rise.

Road trip aims:

  1. Build relationships of solidarity with impacted communities and channel resources to support the frontlines
  2. See impacts and listen to communities experiences, bring our supporters along to build solidarity and raise awareness
  3. Highlight the links between the impacts being experienced by coastal communities and the climate crisis

Coastal communities are already experiencing the impacts of the climate crisis. For the people of Inverloch this involves tracking their coastline’s recession of 50 metres in the last 10 years, which is only set to worsen with sea level rise.

Act on Climate are organising to assist frontline communities to build resilience and defend places they’re already seeing change due to climate impacts. Our listening tour road trip will platform the experiences of coastal communities facing sea level rise and the work being done in the grassroots to track a quickly receding shoreline.

Help fund our collective to travel to climate impacted communities, raise awareness of the issues they’re facing and act in solidarity with the solutions they’re calling for.
