The momentum around getting adequate and ongoing funding for climate adaptation continues! This month, we've had our first round of community members meeting their MPs to pass on our Climate Resilience Inquiry report and talk about local adaptation needs. We're also launching our Australian Climate Adaptation Map, which displays climate adaptation initiatives underway across Australia! It's not too late to set up a meeting with your MP (reply to this email for more info!) or to RSVP to our online and in-person Climate Adapt Map Storytelling Launch tonight! And it's easy to quickly fire off our pre-filled MP email if you haven't already. Interested in getting one of the inspiring climate adaptation initiatives on our map going in your area? Join our Adaptation Activator calls, on which we come together to share ideas, resources and solidarity for building resilience locally to keep those most at risk in your community safe. MPs Being Asked to Act on Adaptation
Our Climate Resilience Inquiry report is being delivered to state MPs by people worried about local climate preparedness. So far, meetings have been held with Gabrielle de Vietri, Paul Edbrooke, and Vicki Ward.
The message is clear: Victorian communities want and need to adapt to locked-in climate impacts. Increased action to adapt to climate change is vital to protect Victorians from these climate impacts.
The report shares how communities can and want to adapt, as well as inspiring examples. Most vital, and appealed for by councils, organisations, and community members alike, is more being invested in climate adaptation by the Victorian Government to enable adaptation to happen.
Want to meet your MP? Reply for more information! Or email them using this pre-filled email.

Local Adaptation Organising Monthly Call
Our next Adaptation Activator call is Aug 7 at 6pm! Hear the story of Dindi Transition, a local group building resilience through connected, informed, & organised citizens. Then connect with others to discuss applying this to progress adaptation locally.
There'll also be a Resilience Inquiry update and a chat on ways we could potentially respond as a network.
Climate Adapt Map Storytelling Launch (online & in-person)
Join AoC tonight for a night of stories, mulled wine (or hot chocolate!) drinks, live music from Charly Oakley and a little bush dancing to celebrate our new Australian Climate Adaptation Map.
Jump online to join the circle and hear the stories from afar. RSVP here for the link and if we'll be seeing you on Smith St!
