On the call, Pat Simons from Yes 2 Renewables shared how the shift to renewables is not only a strategy for mitigating climate change, but it also presents opportunities to enhance climate adaptation. Watch the recording here.

Then, together, we brainstormed how we could make our communities more energy resilient and spoke about progressing energy resiliency and the transition to renewables by making the case for renewables through a climate adaptation lens.

"We're moving towards a more distributed system where instead of just having the centralised power producer that sends electricity from here to there, you have many different types of energy sources and many different ways of transporting power. There's an inherent advantage to that.

Communities now have the chance to develop community micro grids, rooftop solar and battery systems where energy is shared amongst that community and they can be energy resilient and energy independent in many ways.”
- Pat Simons, Y2R
