Victoria just went one step closer to new jobs, cheaper power and action on climate: the Victorian Renewable Energy Target has successfully passed in the lower house in state parliament.
The benefits are huge. The VRET will create over 10,000 jobs, attract as much as $9 billion in investment, and cut electricity sector emissions by up to 16% by 2034-35.
The Matthew Guy opposition has gone through with it's misguided pledge against the VRET and voted against jobs and investment in renewables, despite strong support for renewables among Liberal voters.
This is unacceptable.
We need to make sure they're held to account for voting against renewables and a safe climate future - that's why we're calling for your help. We want to advertise the benefits of the VRET, and how Opposition MPs voted in key seats to keep them honest.
