Help Shape Victoria's Energy Future

Right now, we have the opportunity to truly influence policy to protect the environment and address climate change. And we need your help to put a fire under the Victorian Labor Party to make it happen.

The Andrews government is on the verge of making a decision on whether to allow unconventional gas exploration in Victoria (yes, using fracking), as well as the level of ambition they will set for Victorian Renewable Energy Targets (VRET) for 2020 and 2025.

Together with Friends of the Earth and Yes2Renewables, we’ve been campaigning for:
  • A permanent ban on unconventional gas mining
  • Ambitious VRETs of 30% renewable energy by 2020 and 50% by 2025
These issues have resonated strongly in regional Victoria, but with the government holding many metro seats, they need to hear that their city constituents also demand strong action from the government to protect our water, our food bowl and the climate.

How can you help?

We need your help to phone our supporters to let them know how especially powerful their voices are, encouraging them to contact their local MP about these issues.  Our supporters, like you, already care about the environment and climate change – we just need to let them know how critical their action is right now.  We have lots of background information and a call script that you can use to assist your conversations.  And tasty snacks.  Mmmmm, tasty snacks!

Can you join us at Friends of the Earth - 312 Smith St Collingwood - at any of these times?
