Rally in support of asylum seekers
When Kevin Rudd took power in 2007, many were hopeful that the dark days of Howard’s racism were behind us – the days of kids in detention, refugees dying at sea trying to make it Australia, and the Tampa. Once again it’s time to stand up and be counted, to stand up for basic human rights. Saturday December 5.
Ride Planet Earth: Melbourne
On August 10th, 2008, Kim Nguyen got on his push bike and began riding north from Brisbane with the aim of reaching Copenhagen by December, 2009, in order to spread awareness of climate change around the world. Melbournians will have the opportunity to show their support for the Ride Planet Earth project by attending “Ride Melbourne,” on Sunday December 6th.
