The Victorian government is currently drafting a policy which will outline whether coal has a future in our state.
This is significant as it will outline whether the government plans to rule out new coal projects and implement a planned transition away from this archaic and dirty fuel, or whether it intends to throw the coal industry a lifeline by investing in new coal projects and unproven, experimental coal technologies - such as coal to gas and carbon storage and capture.
We know that Daniel Andrews has a strong commitment to action on climate change - and we think that this policy should reflect that.
