Info Night: Campaigning for Climate + Environmental Justice in 2021

Friends of the Earth Melbourne has been fighting for environmental justice since 1974.

As we emerge from the COVID-19 lockdowns of 2020, we face escalating climate and ecological crises.

We see extractive industries riding roughshod over communities with their plans to decimate the places we love to turn a profit. And we see, all too often, governments turning away from the devastation.

We have a lot of work to do in 2021. But after so much time indoors last year, we're returning to the campaign trail with renewed energy.

Friends of the Earth's campaigns for climate and environmental justice will be ramping up in 2021. And we'd love to fill you in on what we have planned.

This end of summer social event at the iconic at the iconic Edinburgh Gardens is for FoE supporters, friends, and those of you who'd like to get involved in our grassroots campaigns.

Attendees will hear about our campaigns to:

* Support First Nations people in their fight against radioactive racism...

* Establish a jobs-rich offshore wind industry...

* Improve public transport (and active) for all people in the community...

* Secure science-based Emissions Reduction Targets for Victoria and push back on the Morrison govt's climate denial...

* And more...

No prior knowledge or experience needed. Just a passion for environmental justice and community action.

* This is a social event so please bring some snacks and beverages of your choice.

* Please bring a mask so we can be COVID-safe in the community space. Masks will be required if we cannot social distance.

* Please bring hand sanitiser. We will endeavour to provide some, but it's always good to have a back up supply.
