Amendments to strengthen Victoria's Climate Change Act have passed through the Parliament, but no thanks to climate blockers in the Liberal and National party.
We were lucky this time. It's crucial that the community holds the Matthew Guy opposition to account for their efforts to block strengthened climate change laws for our state.
In 2017, it's simply unacceptible to vote against action on climate change. Cutting greenhouse gas emissions and building resilience to the climate impacts that are now locked in should be supported by all political parties--as is the case with investments in education, health, and infrastructure.
If you agree with us, how about joining the Act on Climate (Vic) team and friends at Liberal Party HQ in Melbourne to send a message to the Liberal and National party?
There's 21 months before Victorians go to the polls... Enough time for the Coalition to adopt a credible position on climate change!
