Get Involved: Build Community Power + Grow Community Energy

Hep_Wind_Farm.jpg

The Federal Coalition government's attacks on renewable energy have stalled investment and cost thousands of jobs. And communities who want to lead Australia's transition to a clean energy future with their own projects struggled to get momentum.

Victoria is the home of community energy in Australia. The successful Hepburn Wind farm, which started generating power in 2011, was the country's first community-owned project. Despite recent setbacks, there's an opportunity to supercharge the community energy sector in our state.

The Victorian Parliament has just announced an inquiry into community-owned renewable energy. And we're fired up to get a good outcome.

With your help, Yes 2 Renewables and allies such as the Coalition for Community Energy can engage in the inquiry and make sure that it recommends the policies needed to see dozens of community energy projects get off the ground. If you're keen to get involved, please fill out the form below:

Friends of the Earth acknowledge that we meet and work on the land of the Wurundjeri people and that sovereignty of the land of the Kulin Nation were never ceded. We pay respect to their Elders, past and present, and acknowledge the pivotal role that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within the Australian community.
