With Covid-19 revealing the cracks in the economic system, Australia is at a crossroads:
Will we use this time to pursue a so-called "gas-fired recovery" that will lock in more pollution and damage the climate?
Or will we rebuild with renewables to act on the climate crisis and create thousands of jobs in wind and solar?
This #GlobalWindDay Monday June 15, we will hold a day of action to send the message we need to #BuildBackBetter with a renewables-led recovery to Covid-19.
We're asking people to join this creative action by making a model pinwheel or wind turbine at home, and posting your photos to social media on June 15th.
Take these simple steps to get involved:
1. Make sure you RSVP below to receive simple how to guides on making a pinwheel, action updates and useful info about renewable energy.
2. Make your pinwheel at home with friends or family members.
3. Take a photo, and post to facebook, twitter or instagram on Monday June 15, tagging @Yes2Renewables and use the hashtags #BuildBackBetter #GlobalWindDay
4. In your post, you might like to celebrate what's happening in your region or neighborhood to transition to renewable energy, the need to take action on the climate crisis and the opportunity to create jobs in renewable energy.
While we're all grappling with the realities of physical distancing to keep each other safe and healthy during the outbreak of Covid-19, we can still take action for climate justice and renewable energy.
