It's November already and while our collective is working on an exciting adaptation project to be launched in the new year, we have a couple of events we want to share with you for the last two months of 2025.
We also published our 2026/2027 Budget Submission, in which we call for adequate and ongoing funding for community-led climate adaptation in Victoria. Check it out to learn more about our ask.

Climate Safety Plan LaunchIn September, Australia’s first National Climate Risk Assessment was released. With the climate emergency already reshaping our lives, the importance of adapting to locked-in climate impacts is more obvious than ever. Renew Australia for All – an alliance of 80 + organisations from across community, environment, health, as well as unions, clean industry and faith groups – will launch their Climate Safety Plan this Saturday, November 8th which proposes policies spanning eight key areas: built environment; health; insurance; emergency management; community resilience; food and agriculture; workers' rights; and income support. Act on Climate is partnering with Environment Victoria and Victorian Trades Hall to launch this plan. The Climate Safety Plan – our asks of the federal Government:

Indigo Regen Climate Forum in BeechworthIndigo Regen is a not-for-profit community group working to create regenerative practices that nurture the health of our local communities, biodiversity and our planet. They are hosting a climate forum in Beechworth on Wednesday 26th November from 3-5pm. There are three guest speakers at the forum. The keynote speaker is Michael Mobbs who lives off-grid in inner Sydney and is an environmental lawyer and gardener. Doors open at 2.30pm for time to explore the static displays from Totally Renewable Beechworth, Beechworth Wooragee and Stanley Landcare groups, HalveWaste, Indigo Regen waste initiatives, Murmungee Produce and Michael Mobbs coolseats. Yarra Home Energy Upgrades Subsidy: Adaptation in ActionEligible concession card and healthcare card holders in Yarra can now apply for a subsidy of up to $3,000 for energy upgrades to make their homes more comfortable in hot and cold weather, install solar, or electrify. The program is open to renters, homeowners and community housing residents. Funding can be used to install solar, reverse cycle heating and cooling, insulation, draughtproofing to seal gaps and cracks, efficient electric hot water systems and more, and can be combined with other state and federal subsidies. Apply for your home, or support a friend or neighbour to apply before Sunday 9 November. Limited places are available in the program. Save the date!On Dec 5, Act on Climate will host a mixed performances fundraiser night at the Creatures of Habit bar in Fitzroy. We look forward to a fun night in support of climate justice and deepening our connections with members and supporters of AoC.
