Quit Coal Info Night: Energy Justice Campaign

Do you want to be part of a community campaign that’s fighting for an end to fossil fuels while ensuring EVERYONE has access to clean, fair & affordable energy?

Then come and hear about our new Quit Coal campaign - Energy Justice Victoria.

We need all the help we can get. It’s a huge election year and already things are getting wonderfully crazy at FoE HQ.

It's time we seriously got down to quitting coal - for the climate, for the health of communities and to ensure Victorians have long-term job opportunities.

But we’ve also realised that quitting coal isn’t the whole solution. Our energy system is a mess after years of privatization - prices are skyrocketing, power is held in corporate companies hands & energy poverty is on the rise for low-income communities.

We want to connect the dots between coal pollution, climate change, corporate corruption and energy poverty. In Victoria, the “Big 3” energy companies make TWICE the average profits than other retail businesses. So we are sprouting the seeds for the Government to intervene by creating a publicly-owned, non-profit, 100% renewable energy retailer - giving people clean energy at cost price.

So come to our info night and we'll share with you the rest of our Energy Justice story - there’s villains, there’s victims, there’s the han-solo fence sitters & there’s the theros (our favourite & less-gendered heroes).

Everyone's welcome - even if you don't have the capacity to volunteer your time.

We'll drink beers, share some snacks and get down to business @ Friends of the Earth Food Co-op, 6.30pm.
