After two years of federal policy uncertainty led to instability in the renewable energy sector, the Andrews government has now committed to renewable energy targets of 25 percent by 2020 and 40 percent by 2025. Government, industry, and communities must work together to smash Victoria’s Renewable Energy Targets.
The Victorian Parliament has launched a Parliamentary Inquiry into the benefits of community energy projects and is now taking submissions.
We are calling on the inquiry to endorse the following measures:
- Commit to an ambitious number of community energy projects
- Support community energy projects with a financial mechanism as part of the Victorian Renewable Energy Target
- Re-establish Sustainability Victoria as the community energy support agency in collaboration with developing Community Powerhouses.
We would like to see community energy grow throughout the state with strong policies from the Andrews government and want you to have your say!
Send a submission to the parliamentary inquiry today and show the committee your support for community energy projects across Victoria.
We've provided an email template you can send through straight away. You can alter the text if you wish to make additional comments.
Make sure you get in quick, as submissions close September 29.
