We invite you to join Friends of the Earth Melbourne at the world's biggest climate mobilisation - the People's Climate March!
All across the world as world leaders gather in Paris for the COP21 climate talks, millions of ordinary people will be standing up for social and environmental justice - and for REAL action on climate change.
We must send a clear signal that the time for talk is over - and now we need to see real action if we are to avoid the most catastrophic effects of climate change.
We have seen the strong stance from Pacific leaders who called for a moratorium on new coal mines and for climate change to be limited to less than 1.5C. Now it is time for us to show our government that we, the people support this sort of strong action.
FoE will be joining the nuclear-free bloc at the People's Climate March to send a clear and colourful message that nuclear is no solution to climate change.
With a new pro-nuclear chief scientist, a PM making suggestions around building an international radioactive waste dump, and a Royal Commission in South Australia looking at options for nuclear expansion, it's time to get together to say "Wrong Way Go Back". The evidence is in and nuclear is out.
Meet near the Mr Tulk cafe on the side of the State Library at 5pm (in Latrobe street, just up from the corner with Swanston street). Look for the "solar not nuclear" and Friends of the Earth banners. Please wear yellow if you can.
FoE's Quit Coal and Yes 2 Renewables campaigns will be well represented. Please bring any banners/ placards that you may have.
